HSPD Mentor Biographies

Pat Kirwan
Senior analyst for NFL.com and a former executive with the New York Jets, Pat Kirwan directs the national mentoring service through the NFL youth program. He and his 13 mentors assist athletes, parents and coaches on all subjects pertaining to football, education and leadership. Pat also appears regularly on the NFL TV network, CNN Headline news and has four weekly radio programs on Sirius NFL Radio. Pat also has appeared on ESPN’s Outside the Lines with Bob Ley. He is also the football consultant to the CBS NFL Today Show where he works directly with Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason, Shannon Sharpe and Greg Gumbel. While at the New York Jets, he managed the salary cap, negotiated player contracts and supervised a staff of pro scouts. Prior to his front office duties he worked on the defensive coaching staff with Pete Carroll. Prior to joining the Jets, Pat spent twenty years working in pro scouting, college and high school coaching.

Dan Schwab
Dan has 31 years of football experience and currently writes the weekly matchups for the Sporting News. He spent ten years as a pro scout for three NFL teams and was a college linebacker coach and a high school head coach. Dan speaks Spanish and has worked in education for twenty years. .

Steve Christie
Steve has 32 years of football experience and is currently the principal of a Florida high school. He spent nine years as a pro scout for the Jets and Ravens and also scouted for the Florida Marlins. Steve has been a head high school coach in football and baseball and has also worked with New England Patriot offensive coordinator Charlie Weis.

Perry L. Williams
Perry, a former defensive back for the New York Giants, is currently the director of the Outreach program at Farleigh Dickinson University. Perry is an excellent resource on defensive back play and training techniques.

Bob Reese
With 36 years of professional football experience, Bob is currently a consultant to the NFL Youth Mentoring program as well as running his own consulting company, "Train Your Brain," which helps athletes reach peak performance. Bob was the head athletic trainer for the New York Jets for more than twenty years. He also worked for the Buffalo Bills and Boston College. .

Bill Roos
Bill has 31 years of football experience, including nine years as a pro scout. He also has 21 years of college coaching experience. His areas of expertise include offensive line, defensive line and long snapping. He is very familiar with the college recruiting experience and has published a number of manuals on line play. Seek Bill’s advice if you’re a high school senior getting ready for college.

Wayne Morris
Wayne has 16 years of football experience. He currently writes the NFL Game of the Week matchup for SportingNews.com and is a regular NFL analyst on the Sporting News Radio. He also has five years of broadcasting experience and spent one preseason in an NFL camp. Wayne has six years of experience in the Arena league as a player and two years as a coach. He held the Hofstra University record for receptions until it was broken by Wayne Chrebet.

Jamie Labelle
Jamie has 21 years of experience in strength and conditioning training. Presently, he is a high school athletic director. He was the captain of his college football team and spent one training camp in the NFL as an un-drafted rookie. He has worked with many NFL and college football players in the areas of strength and conditioning. He also has ten years of teaching experience.

Joe Killeen
Joe handles the speed training for a number of colleges and high schools in the New York metropolitan area. He also prepares a number of NFL players every off-season. He has 16 years of experience in athletic training and speed training and is a certified athletic trainer with more than 1,000 clients.

Mark Maier
Mark has 26 years of experience in football and has run an NFL JPD site. He was a pro scout for the New York Jets for seven years. Prior to working wit the Jets he worked for the Hofstra University football team and coached at a number of high schools. He was also a small college All American defensive back. Mark presently works on Wall Street as a stocks trader.

Frank Luisi
With 30 years of football experience, Frank is the President of the Long Island Coaches association and Miami Dolphin quarterback Jay Fiedler's high school coach. He has an extensive background in quarterback techniques. He presently writes NFL matchups for the CBS NFL Today Show. He has more than twenty years of experience as a high school English teacher and works closely with students who need help with college essays.

Dominic Robinson
Dominic has been an admissions counselor for a prestigious university in the Midwest and has seven years of football experience. He played defensive tackle in college and is the son of Greg Robinson, formerly the defensive coordinator of the two-time Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos. Dominic can help with the college admissions process and the value of playing small college football. .

Sean Kirwan
Sean recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where he played varsity football all four years. He is the son of director, Pat Kirwan, and will lend advice about Ivy League football, defensive back play and the challenges of managing time between athletics and school. Sean currently works on Wall Street.

Steve Maroney
Steve was the captain and all league defensive lineman for the undefeated University of Pennsylvania football team. He currently writes NFL matchups for Real Football Inc. and works on Wall Street. Steve helps athletes who are dealing with the stress and challenges of being the team captain. He also lends much insight into the challenges of being an undersized lineman.
